01 / Overview

Built to take a beating.

The smallest unit in the range: secure storage that fits where nothing else will.

The 6ft is a reach-in unit rather than a walk-in one: 6ft 2in deep, 5ft 1in wide and 4ft 5in to the ceiling. That is enough for hand tools, small plant, groundworks kit, seasonal stock or site consumables: everything locked away without surrendering half a yard to do it.

The external footprint is under 2m by 1.7m, so it sits comfortably in a single parking bay, on a domestic driveway, or in the last unused corner of a working site. It is craned in as one piece and needs firm, level ground and clear overhead access. No foundations, no assembly.

Every 6ft leaves us in one-trip condition: manufactured at source, shipped to Ireland once with cargo aboard, then withdrawn from the shipping pool. Dry inside, paint intact, doors running true.

02 / Modifications

Make it yours, before it leaves the yard.

We modify in-house, so the container arrives ready to use. No follow-up trades required.

Every modification is puncture-free where possible, preserving the integrity of the container shell. We finish in marine-grade paint to any RAL colour you specify.

Internal shelving

Heavy-duty galvanised racking, fitted to any wall configuration.

Electrics & lighting

Internal LED lighting, sockets, isolator switch: certified install.

Marine-grade paint

Any RAL shade. Standard HCS green, or your corporate colours.

Extra doors & windows

Personnel doors, roller shutters, opening windows with bars.

Ventilation

Passive vents or extractor fans for chemical / battery storage.

Security upgrades

Extra lockboxes, anti-tamper bolts, alarm-ready wiring.

04 / Delivery

We bring it. We position it. We’re gone.

Most jobs are completed in a single visit, within 48 hours of order confirmation.

Every Hayes Cabin Services delivery runs on a truck-mounted crane, meaning the container is lifted off the truck and positioned exactly where you want it, even on awkward access sites. No third-party crane required, no extra cost, no delays.

We cover the entire island of Ireland from our Castlefreke yard, with our trained banksmen managing the lift on-site. RAMS documentation is provided in advance for every job, included as standard.

05 / FAQs

Common questions.

Can’t find an answer? Ring the yard on 023 884 8395.

Do you deliver across Ireland?

Yes. Every Hayes Cabin Services unit is delivered nationwide from our Castlefreke yard in West Cork. The truck-mounted cranes in our fleet lift the unit off the truck and position it exactly where you need it on-site, so no separate crane is required. RAMS documentation is provided in advance for every delivery as standard.

How quickly can you deliver?

Most deliveries are scheduled within 48–72 hours of order confirmation, subject to stock and route. For specialist modifications or bespoke builds the lead time is longer. We’ll confirm a firm date in writing before invoice.

Can I hire instead of buy?

Most units in the range are available for sale or hire. Hire works on weekly or monthly rates with delivery and collection included; sale is a one-off purchase. Long-term projects under roughly 18 months usually work out cheaper on hire. We’re happy to price both options side-by-side.

Do you provide RAMS and delivery paperwork?

Yes: Risk Assessment and Method Statement documents are issued in advance of every delivery, covering the lift, the site approach, and our banksman’s role. We can route paperwork through your procurement system if required (PDF, portal upload, or signed hard copy on arrival).

Are you set up for purchase orders and B2B invoicing?

Yes. Hayes Cabin Services Ltd is VAT-registered and works to standard account terms for established clients. We invoice against your PO number and supply unit-level reference codes for asset registers. Tier-one clients including Pfizer, HSE, MSD, AbbVie, ESB and Cork County Council are billed on this basis.

What’s the difference between Container Sets, standard containers, and specialised containers?

Container Sets are our compact range (6ft, 7ft, 8ft, 9ft, 10ft): purpose-built smaller units, ideal for tight sites, gardens, or supplementary storage. Standard containers are the familiar 20ft and 40ft shipping-container format. Specialised containers cover side-opening, tunnel (doors at both ends), and multistore configurations for specific access or layout requirements.

Are your containers new or used? What does “one trip” mean?

Our containers are described as “one trip”, manufactured at source and shipped on a single voyage to Europe carrying a load, then withdrawn from the pool. They’ve never been in the second-hand market. That gives you a near-new condition (paint intact, no dents, doors true) at a significantly lower price than a brand-new build.

Can you modify a container before delivery?

Yes. All modifications happen in-house at our Castlefreke yard before the container leaves. Personnel doors, roller shutters, opening windows with bars, internal LED lighting and sockets, heavy-duty galvanised shelving, ventilation, and marine-grade paint in any RAL shade are all available. We finish to your spec so the unit arrives ready to use.

Will the container be watertight?

Yes. Every container leaves the yard with sealed doors, intact drainage channels, and marine-grade paint. We guarantee it watertight on delivery, if anything’s not right, we put it right.

What ground does a container need to sit on?

Level hardstanding is ideal: concrete, tarmac, or compacted hardcore. For grass, gravel, or soft ground we recommend hardwood timber bearers, which we can supply. Send us a photo of the intended position and we’ll confirm what’s needed before the delivery date.
